Is my website easy to use? You probably have an idea about it, but have you ever had it tested? Your website may look very "slick," but that's no guarantee that visitors will find their way around it easily. And your website may be equipped with a heavy search engine, but that doesn't mean that visitors will actually use that search box. But, you can find out when you do a test.

What is the meaning of usability?

Usability means ease of use. It is a term used to describe products, websites or apps. To measure usability or ease of use, a UX researcher likes to perform a usability test, with 5 or more users.

Usability testing for websites

A usability test is a qualitative method to measure usability of a part of the website or app. You can organize such a test with 5 or more (potential) end users and these tests can be done on location or remotely. UX Coach has a lot of experience in organising usability tests, and knows from experience that it gives a large amount of insights and eye-openers about your product, website of app.

In conjunction with a usability test, other data can also be analyzed to know an even richer picture of the entire target audience and their behavior. For example, Google Analytics, Search Console, or heat-maps and recordings of website usage.

how difficult or easy the participants found the test

Is user experience research the same as usability research?

Usability or ease of use is a part of the total user experience (UX). The total user experience consists of many different factors, each of which you can examine one by one. Think of learnability, readability, ergonomics, just to name a few. A usability test focuses primarily on ease of use, but can also give insights about other factors, when discussing the observations with the users. Depending on the product or service you want to research, UX Coach suggests a different approach, with different research methods.
