Finding a senior UX designer

Is hiring a senior UX designer affordable? You don't want to spend a fortune on it, it might be an experiment for your team and it might be the first time you've worked with a UX designer. You want a good UX designer, one who has experience, who really produces a better product and knows how to collaborate.

It might not be difficult to find an experienced UX designer today. There are plenty of freelance platforms where you can find them. But hiring a senior UX designer is not always affordable.

It might be an experiment for your (UX) team and it might be the first time you've worked with a UX designer. As long as you don't know if the collaboration will bring true value, you are careful what to invest in. Very understandable.

The senior UX designer of UX Coach

As said: a senior UX designer helps you to think from the perspective of your end user and involves the decision makers, the internal stakeholders, in the design process as much as possible. For this she needs solid expertise in UX design and especially soft skills: communication skills and empathy with the organization, with the end users, with the needs of the team.

That is exactly the advantage of an experienced UX designer: those soft skills, not only to deliver a good design, but also to create buy-in within your team and your organization.

You can expect a senior UX designer to:

organize workshops or a design sprint with internal stakeholders, to collect the goals of your company and the target group(s), and to take the first steps towards a UX design.
be present at internal team meetings, to collaborate well with your team.
collect (available) data about the behavior of end users in order to conduct user research.
produce high-quality deliverables, on which other team members (for example developers) can continue working. Think of wireframes, prototypes or a functional description of the design.
